* Lip is a historical French watch manufacturer which began trading back in the early 1900s. The company was founded by Emmanuel Lipmann and during its heyday was France's largest watch manufacturer, enjoying success with a collaboration with Pierre and Marie Curie by producing what is cited to be the first luminous watch dial in 1904 during their time working with radioactivity. Lip continued trading right through until 1976 when the company eventually succombed to the cheaper quartz watches which flooded the market. Lip was resurrected in 1990 and continue to produce an attractive range of mid-priced quartz and mechanical watches which trade off the company's previous designs.
* The Nautic-Ski is a watch which was originally produced back in the late 60s and was advertised as a water resistant sports watch. This version features black dial, inner rotating bezel, domed sapphire glass and is powered by a Miyota 821A automatic movement. The design is nicely considered with a real 60s vibe!
