* Manufactured during the 1940s, the Omega Suverän's, ("Sovereign" in English), main purpose was to make money for the Swedish Government. With money tight during WWII, the Swedish government sought a way generate more income so, along with issuing war bonds, the Swedish government decided to also sell watches to the general public. After approaching Omega, the Swedish government would retail these Suverän watches to their citizens and thus secure a rather unorthodox source of income.

* Thanks to its exclusive sale through the Swedish government in the 1940s, and its rather limited sales channels, the Omega Suveran is a collectible piece of both horological and WWII history. Powered by the 30T2 movement - a legendary manual-wind military movement and featuring a black dial with Arabic numerals and syringe shaped hands, this Omega Suverän is a wonderful and collectable wristwatch from Omega's back catalogue.
