MONDAINE HELVETICA NEW YORK EDITION NAMED IN ESQUIRE UK'S TOP 8 WATCHES OF THE YEAR.

Teo van den Broeke, style director of men’s fashion bible Esquire UK, has named the eight watches that he feels are the best in the world this year and nestled among this list of high-end luxury haute horology comes the limited edition Mondaine Helvetica New York Edition. Priced at just £335, this timepiece won over Teo with its cool and contemporary design and nod to New York City.

Dedicated to the city that never sleeps, Mondaine Helvetica‘s No.1 New York Edition features three ubiquitous styles in-keeping with the cult of its font. Inspired by the vibrancy of the New York subway, each stitch and underlining of the watch strap in the Mondaine Helvetica series has been given a network colour: Red for the Bold 43mm model; Green for the Regular 40mm model and Blue for the Light 38mm model. Encased in a special gift box, each New York Edition watch comes with a set of bespoke vintage American-inspired postcards.
 
The winning watch in the Esquire list was the 38mm No.1 Light, featuring a black PVD coated case, black dial and black strap with blue stitching and underlining. The all black design creates a stunning visual effect but the addition of blue adds vibrancy and style. Legibility hasn’t been lost however. This watch is still beautifully clear and easy to read.
