* The PIONEER Mk I is a replica of the “Calibre 40”, the first precision chronograph produced by Hanhart in 1938. All of the chronograph functions on this unconventional model – start, stop and zero setting – are performed by a single button and always strictly follow each other. Unlike its two-button equivalent, the seconds hand on this chronograph cannot be restarted from the point at which it is stopped; the next press of the button returns the spring to the original starting point. This meant that the automatic HAN3601 calibre used for the Mk I had to be modified slightly.

* Featuring a gorgeous off-white dial colour with luminous "Cathedral" shaped hands and Arabic numerals. The watch comes with distinctive rotating fluted bezel with red marker and fitted to a brown calfskin strap with rivets.

Tradition and Expertise since 1882.

Hanhart first began trading on July 1st 1882 when Swiss watchmaker Johann A. Hanhart opened a watch shop in Diessenhofen, north-east Switzerland. The company quickly re-located to Schwenningen, southern Germany in 1902 and found instant success in 1924 with their first affordable, mechanical stopwatch. By 1938, Hanhart were a pioneer in the production of mechanical chronograph wristwatches, designed for pilots and by the 1960s had also moved into fine timing for sports events and motor racing.

Today, Hanhart still produce a varied range of wristwatches and fine timing stopwatches, tapping into their rich heritage of mechanical watchmaking know-how to produce pieces of incredible craftmanship and functional good looks.
