* Anyone who ventures beyond the borders of their home country regularly face the problem of trying to keep up with the time in numerous time zones. The Terrasport IV GMT from Mühle-Glashütte helps to make mastering this challenge easy by providing clear information at a glance. Not only can you view the current time on the face of the watch, but also the numbers on the 24-hour scale can be used to see the local time in your current destination. If you plan to stay for a while once you have reached your destination, you can synchronise the local time with the main display and then see the current time back home on the 24-hour scale.

* The watch takes direct design cues from the classic pilots watches of the 1940s. A clear and un-clutterred dial makes reading the time quick and easy, the red 24-hour hand stands off the dial clearly enabling the wearer to see a second time zone without fuss or aggravation and the luminous white hands and arabic numerals sit off the black dial with superp clarity.

The Mühle family has been residents in Glashütte, East Germany for over 700 years. The family company was founded in 1869 by Robert Mühle who began developing and manufacturing time measuring instruments for local factories and the Car industry. They supplied car clocks and speedometers for famous car manufacturers such as Horch, Maybach and DKW.

When the company was expropriated after World War II, it was not until 1990 when the reunification of Germany happened that the fourth generation, Hans-Jürgen Mühle set up the company we now know as ‘Mühle-Glashütte GmbH nautische Instrumente und Feinmechanik’.

Mühle now manufacture high precision marine chronometers and wristwatches, which stand out due to their clarity of display, excellent functionality and high precision. The essence of a Mühle watch is to perform one simple function; measure time accurately and display it clearly. This is what Mühle see as ‘Elementary Time Measurement’.
