* The Orion is regarded by Nomos' designers as their secret favourite. One can initially see elements of past styles from the 60s influencing this watch, however on closer inspection, it is thoroughly modern in design and has a beautiful curved shape to the case and glass, apparently taking inspiration from classic sc-fi UFO movies.
* Compared to the standard Orion, the Datum has a slightly larger case diameter of 38mm and a date indicator at the 6 o'clock position. The sapphire case-back displaying the in-house Glashütte made movement is a beautiful feature and the extraordinarily flat case with domed sapphire crystal gives a wonderful shape and comfort on the wrist.

Nomos was founded in the small town of Glashütte in eastern Germany just after the fall of the Berlin wall. Even though the market was demanding Quartz, Nomos took a chance and focused on producing purely mechanical watches.
Today, Nomos Glashütte is one of only a handful of watch companies to call themselves a manufactory, meaning it is a company which develops and constructs its own movements rather than buying in movements from other companies.
Nomos live by the ethos ‘Deutscher Werkbund’, which means good design affordable for the many.
